MARY COYNE | CLINICAL PSYCHOTHERAPIST

I am a fully accredited Clinical Person-Centred Psychotherapist with experience working in multiple mental health settings with adults and young people including Hillingdon Mind; a specialist Eating Disorders and Personality Disorder unit; a secondary school and 6th form college as well as a West London community-based counselling service.

Research proves that a good relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor for therapeutic change. As such, it is important to find someone that you feel comfortable with. I am a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental therapist offering a confidential space to explore any issues which may be impacting you. Some people find it easier to open up and talk than others, especially during hard times. Whatever your unique circumstances; whatever your reasons for seeking therapy, I will respect you for who you are and we will work together at your pace.

I have also been trained to deliver DBT skills and Mindfulness techniques for stress reduction, both of which can be very helpful in times of emotional distress and crisis. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Applications from the Metanoia Institute, validated by Middlesex University. My MSc research looks at the experience of family members of individuals diagnosed with ‘Schizophrenia’, which is a topic of significant personal interest to me. All psychotherapists accredited by the UKCP meet stringent training and CPD requirements, as well as abide by the UKCP Code of Ethics.
